We have the "First Tuesday of the Month Lunch Club". On the first Tuesday of each month (thus the name of the Club), we gather 15 friends and take off a new adventure to a different restaurant.
The companionship among our friends, plus trying a new dining experience, make for a great time!
We take day trips which typically include lunch to destinations around the Kansas City area. Other trips have included the Truman Library, Arboretum, Money Museum, T-Bones Baseball, WW1 Museum, Lion and Tiger Preserve in Louisburg, Kansas, The Distillery in Weston, Missouri, and many other places.
We entertain whether it be singing karaoke, hiring real talent, playing games, happy hours, special holiday events, bringing in our friends from Chocolate Scissors, barbeque for a group, or just about anything legal to make a senior smile.
We have Bible studies for different groups. We feel the most important thing we can do is help bring our older friends across the "finish line" in their relationship with God. It is very rewarding to hear their testimonies and to share ours with the seniors that have seen and experienced so much in this world.
We listen... sometimes our friends just need to know that somebody cares.
